Working with our organisations, CSnet embeds the Victim Survivor MARAM Assessment Tools, the Person Using Violence Assessment Tools, and various designs of the FVISS and CISS into our system so that organisations can meet their responsibilities in identifying, assessing and managing family violence in a way that is fully integrated into their work.
MARAM (Multi-agency Risk Assessment and Management) Framework
MARAM (Multi-agency Risk Assessment and Management) Framework is the approved family violence risk assessment and management framework under the Family Violence Protection Act 2008
The MARAM Framework outlines 10 principles that underpin the reforms. The principles support four pillars against which prescribed organisations are required to align their policies, procedures, practice guidance and tools. The pillars include 10 responsibilities for identifying, assessing and managing family violence risk across service sector (https://www.vic.gov.au/report-on-implementation-of-the-family-violence-risk-assessment-and-management-framework-2018-19/maram-framework)
Agencies are guided in the implementation of the MARAM Practice Guidelines in their work with clients (https://www.vic.gov.au/maram-practice-guides-foundation-knowledge-guide).
The Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVIS Scheme) and the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CIS Scheme) enable organisations to share information relating to assessing or managing risk to promote the safety and wellbeing of children, individuals and families.
Benefits of embedding the MARAM framework within CSnet®
- On Screen, Real time data collection – Practitioners can easily collect and see on screen vital information regarding risk during and throughout their case management.
- Multiple tool usage – Multiple MARAM tools can be completed on single cases as relevant to the situation.
- Client centric view of Risk – occurrences of completing MARAM tools and incidents of information sharing can be monitored for a client across multiple programs across an organisation.
- Output of printable forms – MARAM tools are produced at case level as forms in the official format or in a format prescribed by the organisation
- Organisational monitoring of risk – level risk registers are provided for all MARAM tools, including the FVISS and CISS, ensuring regular monitoring of client risk and evidence of the organisation’s implementation of the MARAM requirements.
How MARAM is embedded in CSnet®
Data relevant to people identified in MARAM tools is collected from current datasets to avoid duplication by staff. For instance, Name, DOB, Gender, Primary Address, Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander status/ Country of birth/ Language spoken at home. Additional data for MARAM tools is easily collected under client profiles.
Multiple MARAM tools can be used…. on screen, as required by the mandated process requirements.
Outputs generated as reports on the case in word format, based on templates provided by Organisations. Excerpts of Adult Intermediate Tool provided below.
Risk Registers for MARAM tools and Information Sharing Schemes assist with risk management and compliance.
